Are Studio Apartments The Same As Efficiency Apartments In Westfield?

When you look for a smaller rental unit, you might come across the words “studio apartment” and “efficiency apartment.” On the surface, these descriptions may appear to be identical, but in actuality they are two unique apartment styles. While it’s true they are both smaller in size and budget-friendly, studio and efficiency apartments in Westfield have some important differences. If you see these differences, you should be able to decide which type of apartment to select as your new home.

What Is A Studio Apartment In Westfield?

When you think of a smaller rental unit, you’re in all likelihood thinking of a studio apartment. It’s factual that most studio apartments in Westfield are 600 square feet or less, but it’s their floor plan that allows them to differentiate from other options. While that majority of apartment configurations have clearly defined rooms, studio apartments feature an open design. The family room, bedroom, and kitchen are all included in one open area. Only the bathroom and maybe a closet is behind closed doors.

You’ll find a little variety between studio apartments. Various units have a loft that offers a little bit of privacy, and others use an L-shaped design making a sleeping nook. You may find different studio apartment kitchen styles to boot. Despite their size, studio apartments do have full kitchens, and often a small counter or bar and cabinetry can serve as a welcomed separation point between your kitchen and living areas. And some studio apartments have a large enough bathroom for both a tub and shower, while some units only have a shower.

What Are Efficiency Apartments In Westfield?

Efficiency apartments seem the same as studio apartments, but they’re designed to conserve space even more. They feature very small floor plans–some could be just 300 sq. ft. in total. Everything except the bathroom is in one square room. Instead of a full-size kitchen, you will find a reduced kitchen area with a couple appliances and a small strip of countertop area included. In the tiniest of efficiency apartments, the fridge or range are smaller. You’ll probably be presented with a space-saving bathroom too, consisting of a shower without a tub.

Will You Choose A Studio Or Efficiency Apartment?

As you now understand the difference between efficiency and studio apartments in Westfield, which one will you choose? That depends on what matters most to you. Both types may cut your housing costs but are best suited for different lifestyles.

If you want a cozy unit to rent and possibly entertain one or two guests, a studio apartment has sufficient room for you to move around. If having features like a full kitchen matters to you, then go with a studio apartment. A studio apartment typically works better for residents with furry friends too.

If you travel a lot or don’t spend much time at home and only need a home base, you can avoid the higher rent of a studio or one-bedroom by selecting an efficiency apartment. You may also balance out the higher living costs within the heart of the city or other desirable area by going with an efficiency apartment in whatever neighborhood you want. And while your smaller rental may not have a few amenities, remember that you can still use the fantastic community amenities.
